Coming into this year's Australian Open, who would have thought we would see a Federer-Nadal final? Federer, ranked 17th, and Nadal, ranked 9, were both coming off after a long injury-induced break. But here we are again, lucky to be able to witness another upcoming Rafa-Federer classic.
Federer took a long six-month break after his knee surgery and came into the tournament with only an outside chance. Nadal, after a usual injury-ridden period, too wasn't counted among the favourites. But with Djokovic and Murray out of the way, a ray of hope had appeared for the veterans.
Federer won 7-5, 6-3, 1-6, 4-6, 6-3 in his semi-final with Wawrinka after the latter threatened a comeback late in the match. Nadal, on his part, defeated red and hot Grigor Dimitrov 6-3, 5-7, 7-6, 6-7, 6-4 in another five-set thriller. This will be their first final in six years after Nadal defeated Federer in the 2011 French Open final.
So, what do you think? Will Nadal score another one against Federer? Or will Federer finally grasp that elusive 18th grand slam? Tune in your TV at 2 pm (IST) on Sunday to find out!
