We all have been Facebook addicts and some of us still are, but this doesn’t bring us the right to post everything that is illegitimate and everything that will drop us down from being a popular Facebooker to a Facebook freak. Don’t worry, we got your backs! We’ve enlisted these rules that you need to follow if you don’t want to be a Facebook Freak. Let’s take a look:
1. Don’t like your own posts
Liking your own picture doesn’t make sense because if you hadn’t liked your picture, you wouldn’t have uploaded it. Same goes for your statuses and other posts.
Liking your own updates and posts is inhumane. You are advised not to perform this act in any circumstances. Ever.
2. Do not ask others to like/comment/share your posts
Those days when you used to update your posts with ‘Like this post if you’re a dogs person’ or ‘Share this post if you’re an animal-lover’ are now sadly or happily, gone. It is insulting if you have to ask someone to like or share, and it is even more insulting when that person doesn’t do so.
3. Don’t like a post and then unlike it
It might have happened with you many times that with your touch-screen smart phones you were scrolling through your wall while you accidently liked someone’s picture/post without intending to do so. It is unethical to unlike that post even if that person is the last person you wish to interact with.
4. Assuming that every other friend posts about you
Even if you had a little grudge lately, it doesn’t have to mean that they updated a nasty and impolite status just for you. Well there are some chances it could be you, but why to take those chances when you can live a happy life?
5. Updating emotional/sad posts is an offense
Sad/emotional posts are like a shoutout of your misery in public. It is like to cry loud in a room fool of people (who might laugh out silently).
It is inadvisable to perform this publicity stunt on Facebook.
6. Ain’t nobody cares for your personal issues, don’t make them public
If you had a very rough day, or the happiest one ever, chances are that nobody cares. Think your emotions through before making it public. If you updated a sad and doomed post, 80% of people won’t care and 20% will feel pleased that you’re miserable.
7. Posting something to piss someone off
Updating mean statuses for people who did you wrong and then when they ask you if the posts were for them, you pretend like they aren’t even important enough to be the reason behind your posts.
I mean, why?
8. Posting details of the night that will make you regret in the morning
Your granny and your mommy might not know that you were out with your friends partying all night, but remember even if they’re not on facebook, your cousin’s friend’s sister’s nephew might be and he won’t take no shit and he would take a screenshot.
And chances are, you might wake up to see your mom with angry eyes and your embarrassing uploads from last night.
9. Tagging all your friends on your picture
Another publicity stunt to get likes.
Not. Advisable. At. All.
10. Game requests
When you decline a candy crush request, and that person sends you the request all over again, how does it feel?
11. Making your love life public
The world doesn't need to know that you are madly in love (or mad in love). Focus on being in relationship in real life not on facebook.
