According to the experts Dangal will possibly cross many more milestones as no big film will collide with Dangal till the next weekend when Shaad Ali's romantic comedy Ok Jaanu hits the theaters. Festive season and holidays played a very important role to make Dangal successful. The film is seems to be the second biggest hit of the year, with Salman Khan starrer 'Sultan' leading the way. The whole story of the movie is all about a father who wants to make his daughters wrestling champions. This Nitesh Tiwari film is a biopic of real life wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita featuring Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra.

Mr Perfectionist Amir Khan made some herculean efforts to make the movie a huge success. Be it putting on weight to show ageing or becoming fit again, the whole process was to be perfect for the role.

Sakshi Tanwar who played a role of Amir Khan’s wife was highly appreciated by the audience for her performance. This is the first time people are watching Sakshi in a very different manner. Sakshi, who played a character of Daya Kaur, is a 'peacemaker, who holds the family together and sometimes interceding on behalf of her daughters, at other times on behalf of her husband.

Sanya Malhotra looked adorable in Babita Kumari’s character. Dangal is her first movie and it seems Sanya will definately manage to go far in Indian cinema.

Fatima Sana Shaikh played the role of Geeta Phogat in Dangal who was India’s first female wrestler to win gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.  She started her career with Kamal Hassan’s “Chachi 420” as baby girl Bharti. She also acted in various TV serials and featured in small film roles like “Tahaan”, “Bittoo Boss” and “Akaash Vani”, among others.

Another factor for the success of the film was adjudged to be the large spectrum of audience it catered to.
