Looking up at the sky and squinting over the sun with manja in your hand, we are sure that by now you’ve guessed what festive-sport we are talking about. As January welcomes the cold waves, the chill also accompanies itself with the zeal of awesome festivities.
In addition to the distribution of sweet-til guls and beautiful kites flying in the sky, the month also encourages the passionate kite flyers all across the globe to be the part of The International Kite Festival.
The festival commenced on Sunday at Sabarmati Riverfront, Ahmedabad. With the presence of The Governor O.P. Kohli, the event was inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
This euphoric event will witness thousands of kite enthusiasts across the world. Nearly 150 representatives from 44 countries like UK, South Korea, New Zealand, China, Indonesia, and Malaysia, have congregated to celebrate this festival for the next five days.

Talking about this kite-flying event, CM Rupani said,
People from different countries have come here to fly kites. People from different states are also here. For around eight days, kite festivals will be celebrated in different cities in the state.
