Ahead of the CBI court’s judgement in a rape case against Dera Sachcha Sauda leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the followers have started thronging in in greater numbers, as reported by The Tribune. The case’s verdict is scheduled to come out around 25 August.
Over 20,000 followers have reportedly gathering at Naam Charcha Ghar situated in Sector 23 of Panchkula.
The Chandigarh police in order to detain and arrest such a large crowd ended up declaring the Chandigarh Cricket Stadium as a “temporary jail” on the date of the hearing.
Panchkula DC Gauri Prashar Joshi, had reportedly met the followers of Dera Sachcha Sauda and pleaded them to oblige with the Government officials in order to comply with the law and order.
Approximately 35 companies of paramilitary forces were deployed earlier this week to assist the Chandigarh police in maintaining the law and order in Panchkula.
