Badshah Pays Tribute To Rahman In 'The Humma Song', And We Wish He Hadn't

How could you let this happen to your own song, ARR?

Badshah, The Humma Song, Rahman, Ok Jaanu, Shraddha Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur

Remember 'Humma Humma' from Bombay (1998)? Of course you do. The song is the perfect mixture of energy, sensuousness and musical finesse, and continues to be one of AR Rahman's most definitive compositions.

This old favourite has been rehashed for the upcoming movie OK Jaanu by rapper Badshah and Tanishk Bagchi. Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur share a crackling chemistry in this peppy song, to which Jubin Nautiyal and Shashaa Tirupati have lent impressive vocals. Not bad, not bad at all.

Except when the bit by Badshah pops its crass head out. Honestly, do we have to have a barely-there rap piece by him in every single song? Way to ruin a perfectly good composition, we say!

So, like it or not, here it is.

Yay or nay? Let us know in the Comments!
