“You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting – over and over announcing your place in the family of things.”
read Mary Oliver’s poem many years ago!
But even today artist Jennifer Taylor’s thoughts are in coherence with that and she has been fascinated by the magic nature hides amongst its leaves and feathers. Growing up in North East England wandering around the forests and castles of Cheshire, England she built castles of her own with dandelions and shrubs, where squirrels scurried by and a lone wolf cried in the distance.
So, she tries to recreate nature’s magic in her own little paintings to fuel her childhood ideas!
“I couldn't resist a little pumpkin, mushroom forest painting...I used Van Gogh watercolours on Fabriano paper.” Says the artist.
“I certainly wouldn't mind a little stroll in this forest, painted from my imagination. It is part of a 2 piece painting.”
“I spent my childhood running around castles and forests with my brothers. Ancient castle by night, painted from my imagination.”
“This is a little collab painting between @inspiratiq (Instagram) and myself. Marlene painted the beautiful, beautiful fox with reflection, I created the woodland and water scene around.”
“Night Under The Stars”
“Little forest creatures”
“Wooden butterflies and crying wolves”
“This time with some squirrels to keep us company.”
“Really feeling all wintery now. I've also just been advised that in 8 weeks it'll be Christmas! Yikes!”
“I just love plums, purples and yellows. I would definitely be happy sat looking at this view. Happy Saturday!”
"The colours are just gorgeous this time of year...the sky was so blue today and those autumn leaves. It’s not snowing yet, that's a bit of imagination loving the darker natural light of the shorter days..."
