Two Army camps were attacked by terrorists late last night in Baramulla, northern Kashmir. The area is considered to be one of the most sensitive in the whole region, hence the concentration of the army.
The attack comes mere four days after the Indian Army conducted precision strikes on terrorist launch-pads across Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK).
The heavily-armed terrorists attacked the two camps, belonging to the Rashtriya Rifles and the Border Security Force (BSF), leading to a fierce gun-battle with security forces.
The terrorists gained entry into the 46 battalion of the Rashtriya Rifles through an adjoining BSF camp.
A soldier, Constable Nitin has been martyred while another, Constable Pulwinder has been injured. Both belong to the 40th battalion of the BSF. At least two terrorists have been reported killed in the skirmish while others fled.
Our condolences to the family of Constable Nitin.
