A scary scene from the horror film Annabelle: Creation prompted a woman to repeatedly punch herself in the face outside a theatre in Brazil.
A video showing the 20-year-old woman in complete hysterics was captured in a mall in Teresina, north-east Brazil. According to the Daily Mail, the woman and her friends were leaving the theatre at midnight after watching the film when she suddenly started to behave in a strange manner.
The video, which has been shared more than 20,000 times, shows the woman lying on the floor, screaming and coughing uncontrollably. Friends are seen trying to calm the panic-stricken woman, who apparently started punching herself in the face before she is taken to a hospital at around midnight on Friday, August 18.
A staff member at the mall told Brazil’s UOL website, “We haven’t managed to find out exactly what happened or what caused this behavior. What we know is that she was really very nervous and couldn’t herself explain what had happened.”
Emergency services were forced to wheel the panicking woman in order to remove her from the mall, a local news reported. She was later taken to a hospital in the city in Brazil’s northeastern state of Piaui.
