Do you remember the SUICIDE GUY from 3 idiots? Well he might have gone unnoticed then but actor Ali Fazal has carved his own niche since. Though his Khamoshiya bombed at the BO, the hit songs and solo performance definitely put him on the map.

The handsome hunk was casted in a clichéd cameo in Fast and Furious 7, making it to the list of Bollywood actors making it to Hollywood.

This time around he has bagged the lead role opposite the ace actress Judi Dench in director Stephen Frears's upcoming film which is tentatively titled Victoria & Abdul. The story is based on a book, set in the late 1800s and will be about an unexpected friendship between Queen Victoria and Abdul Karim, a young clerk from India. Ali has been cast to play protagonist Abdul while the James Bond Actress will play Queen Victoria.

Currently Fazal is very busy promoting his upcoming cross border comedy with Diana Penty, Jimmy Shergill and Abhay Deol so when asked about this foreign venture Ali said, "I think they liked my hold on Hindi, English and Urdu. I'm growing a beard for this movie. Hence, I'm looking like a homeless guy while promoting my upcoming film Happy Bhag Jayegi. I'll leave for London after it releases."

The actor is thrilled about working with Judi Dench and says it feels like a dream come true, "I'm living my dream. Abdul is a guy from Agra who goes to London and is thrown into a fancy place all of a sudden. That's just what happened to me. Stephen liked my audition and I did reading sessions with Judi Dench”.

He say he won’t read the book and if required will only refer the archived letters exchanged between the Queen and Abdul.  “I don't want the book to influence Stephen's vision or the script. I want to retain the innocence that Abdul had. From teaching the Queen Hindi and Urdu to becoming her confidante and political advisor -they shared a unique relationship”, he quoted.
