Day 2 of Indian Runway Week 2017 just ended but we still cannot get over its awesomeness! Apart from talented designers and models, the fashion week saw hordes of peeps from the B-town as well.

On the opening of Day 2, singer Ankit Tiwari walked for Apash and Shruti. He even belted out a few numbers while at the ramp. The act was followed by the gorgeous Shibani Dandekar, who was Niti Singhal’s showstopper for Twee-In-One.

However, it was Alexandra Kutas who stole the show!

Who Alexandra, you ask? Well, this stunner of a beauty is a 23 YO wheelchair-bound model from Ukraine.

Alexandra was the showstopper for duo Nikheil and Rivendra’s winter/festive collection ‘Vintage Vibes’ and nailed it with her grace and confidence! She wore a dazzling mid-night blue gown which the designer duo had designed especially for her. There was an applause all the while she graced the ramp.

While Alexandra impressed the crowd with her act, the audience couldn’t stop going gaga over designer duo’s collection which was inspired by the ‘50s era.

The ranged spelled ‘classy’ and encompassed major throwback kinda outfits like flared pants and corset dresses, etc.

Kutas has been wheelchair-bound from an early age. She suffered from a spinal-cord injury from her birth which got her paralysed from waist down.

She did not let her shortcoming come in the way of her modeling aspirations.

"Ever since I began modelling in Ukraine, people's perception towards diversity has changed. Brands like me after seeing my photos but the moment they see me on a wheelchair, they back out. I'm trying to break those barriers. With my passion and professional ethics, I'm as good as any other model even if I'm wheelchair-bound," Kutas told Deccan Chronicle.

After India’s first transgender model Anjali Lama making it to the ramp, it seems like the trend of real-life heroes sashaying the ramp is here to stay.

Kudos to Nikheil and Rivendra and Alexandra for their effort!
