If there is ever any biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, then none other than Akshay Kumar will be the first choice to showcase the iconic life journey of our PM.
Well, ever since Akshay Kumar has met the Prime Minister and discussed his upcoming film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, there has been criticism of him seeking political patronage in promoting his films.
However, when Modi retweeted the post praising Akshay for his film and supporting the Central Government's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the speculations gained more force, that Akshay could become the protagonist in Modi’s biopic.
Now in a report published in Hindustan Times, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Chief Pahlaj Nihalani said, "I can’t think of anyone better to play our Prime Minster than Akshay. He has a spotless image of an idealist and visionary. And look at the kind of work he’s doing. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Padman are the cinemas of social reform that Guru Dutt and V Shantaram were associated with. Also, Akshay has risen from humble working class beginnings to become a national star, just like Modiji. We are certainly looking at a strong possibility of Akshay playing Modiji”.
According to Pahlaj Nihalani since Akshay came from a "humble middle-class background", it adds more similarity between the two.
While this is just speculation, a biopic on PM Modi will be interesting to watch!
