Aishwarya Rai Bachchan To Share Screen With Anil Kapoor After 17 Years

This will be the second project of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan this year. She was last seen in Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'.

After giving iconic films like 'Taal' in 1999 and 'Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai' in 2000, the amazing duo of Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is coming back for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's next project, 'Fanney Khan'.


Prernaa Arora, who is co-producing the film with Arjun N Kapoor and Rakeysh, told TOI, "We go on the floors by the year-end. It is a happy, slice-of-life film. We approached Aishwarya for the part and are glad she agreed to come onboard".

Fanney Khan is one of the two films which Aishwarya will do this year. The film is a comedy-musical and will be shot entirely in Mumbai.

Aishwarya who was last seen in Karan Johar's multi-starer romance, 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. She then took a gap of five months because of personal reasons, talking about which she said, "I took a break for the past five months because of personal reasons. I'm glad I did. It meant a lot for me, personally, so I didn't have any professional meetings. I started last week and I have liked two subjects already".

Fanney Khan marks the directorial debut of Atul Manjrekar, who has been a part of the ad world for a decade and is a long-time associate of Mehra.

It is said that Anil who had played a grizzled role in 'Dil Dhadakne Do', will be seen playing a theoretical character in the film.
