According to ‘The Hindu’ report, Air India is going to reserve six seats of the front row in domestic flights without any extra charge for the women passengers, so that the women passengers feel safer.

This is the first time ever in the world that any Airline will be reserving seats and taking an action towards women’s safety. Air India general manager, revenue management, Meenakshi Malik stated while interviewing for The Hindu, “We will be reserving the third row — six seats — in the economy class of the aircraft fon or female passengers travelling alone,”

She also added, “We feel, as national carriers, it is our responsibility to enhance comfort level to female passengers. There are a lot of female passengers who travel alone with us and we will be blocking a few seats for them."

This decision was taken after the onboard groping incident of a sleeping woman was reported.

After the news was announced, tweeple broke the internet with some witty, appriciative or petty tweets.
