Hello hitmaker Adele spat out the F word just a few seconds into her performance honoring George Michael at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night, courtesy repeated technical issues. The pop superstar then insisted on restarting the song.
“I’m sorry for swearing and sorry for starting again, can we please start it again,” said the British singer and songwriter.
“I’m sorry, I can’t mess this up for you. I’m sorry,” Adele added as the patient crowd gave her a cheer.
“I can’t do it again like last year,” she added, “Sorry Ken,” while referring to the Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich.
An hour later when Adele won song of the year for “Hello” she apologized again to the audience. “I really do apologize for swearing. I’m sorry if I offended anyone, anywhere,” she said as she received the award with Greg Kurstin, her co-writer, and producer.
“I just really love him,” she said while remembering Michael.
