It was speculated that about 50 chartered planes were set to arrive for Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s daughter’s which took place here on Sunday. In the backdrop of cash crunch in the country, this created a big storm with many bashing the Union Minister for making such a big show.
The office of Nitin Gadkari, however, rejected the claim saying that only 10 to 12 planes flew around to ferry the VVIPs and termed the rumour as ‘baseless’. A report citing of Hindustan Times, Nagpur airport authority sources had said that at least 28 chartered planes from different locations arrived at the airport till 5 pm on Sunday, which soon turned out to be false.
Top leaders including Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP chief Amit Shah, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aditya Thackeray, MNS president Raj Thackeray, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar and Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis were among the guests that attended the wedding. Furthermore, yoga guru Ramdev, Union Minister Maneka Gandhi, former Civil Aviation minister Praful Patel and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat were also present in the grand ceremony.
Gadkari’s daughter Ketki, youngest among his three children tied the knot with Aditya Kaskhedikar, hailing from Nagpur, on Sunday. Aditya works with Facebook in US.
