According to a United World Wrestling report, the Olympic Association has decided to go with Praveen Rana as India’s replacement in the 74 kg Men’s Freestyle category, as Narsingh Yadav tested positive for the banned anabolic steroid methandienone.
In 2014, at the Dave Schult Memorial wrestling tournament in USA, Rana had won a gold medal in the 74 kg category. He also secured another gold in the 70 kg category at the International Wrestling Tournament.
Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel had strictly informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that Yadav has been provisionally suspended and if there is no new development he will not be able to play in the Rio Olympics.

But a day after this announcement, it has been revealed that Narsingh and his roommate Sandeep Yadav had failed the dope test, and this was a conspiracy to stop him from going to Rio.
