SS Rajamouli, while a familiar name for film buffs, catapulted to international fame with the immense success of his magnum opus Bahubali: The Beginning, in 2015. The director of the highest grossing Telugu film of all time, however, has many other wildly popular entertainers to his credit.

Here are a few of his most successful flicks to go with your extended holiday!

1. Sye (2004)

How many Indian films with sports at their centre do well? And one with a lesser known sport like rugby, at that? Well, this high-energy Nithin-Genelia starrer did!

2. Chatrapathi (2005)

This action flick is for everyone who has fallen in love with Prabhas after Baahubali. The statuesque actor plays Shivaji aka Chatrapathi (we see what you did there!) who becomes the messiah for migrant labourers on the coast of Andhra Pradesh. This film is said to have been loosely based on the 1983 Al Pacino classic Scarface.

3. Vikramarkudu (2006)

This film is better known to Hindi moviegoers, as its 2012 remake Rowdy Rathore. An out-and-out action drama, this movie, starring Ravi Teja, Anushka Shetty and the inimitable Brahmanandam, has all the masala needed for one riot of a film!

4. Magadheera (2009)

A reincarnation-fantasy, Magadheera was the audience’s first taste of how well Rajamouli could handle this genre. This film also propelled its actors Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal to stardom.

5. Eega (2012)

Another popular film, this experimental fantasy was also dubbed in Hindi as Makkhi. The National Film Awardee for its VFX, Eega starred Nani, Sudeep and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in an interesting superhero flick. Almost like a desi predecessor to Ant-Man, we might say!

This should do till Bahubali: The Conclusion hits theatres next year, right?
