At the Annual Governor's award 2016 the famous Chinese actor finally received an honorary oscar award for his 56 years of contribution to the film industry. The actor, while voicing his vote of thanks, praised his hometown Hong Kong for making him chinese. He also recalled holding the gold statuette at Sylvester Stallone's house, 23 years ago and how he always wanted one! The actor also mentioned how his father once asked him as to why didn’t he have this gold statuette despite making so many movies.

The actor quoted,

“After 56 years in this industry, making more than 200 films and breaking so many bones, finally.”
